students to learn about the most recent studies
on the position of women in the media world. Professor
Peter Collins will be giving a speech at 3 pm
at Merton College to present his new work, entitled
Women and the Media Culture.

Walker, a senior lecturer at Cambridge University,
is proposing a study day focusing on rural and
urban life in Oxfordshire during the 18th century.
Students wishing to participate will need to register
before the 30th at the Modern History Research
Department.
